Not sure about sun light but this film does reduce glare from indoor light sources. It could probably be argued that simply turning off the lights that reflect on the TV screen or moving the light source would also resolve the issue with glare on the TV.The film is easy to install but the instructions could have been phrased better. The film covers about 95% of the screen which is adequate enough to reduce glare and not have a noticeable difference between when the film end and the bottom of the TV screen begins.After applying the film to the TV there are no air pockets (bubbles) to smooth out.Not sure when a roll of 3M double sided tape was included as it is not needed for installation. Perhaps new tape needs to be applied to the film after a period of time? I will keep it just in case.For those just buying this for the first time some better instructions would look a bit like this; wipe down the TV screen with the included wipes, peel off all the plastic that has red arrows on it, peel off all the 3M brown colored tape around the edges of the film, green colored film faces out (not against the TV screen), adhere the sticky side of the film to the top right hand corner of the screen, adhere film to the entire right hand side of the TV, align as best you can starting from the top, press down as you go until the entire right hand side of the film is against the screen.There might be a 1/4 or more gap on the left hand side. Same with the very bottom. This does not adversely impact picture quality or glare issues.Anyway I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this item.
